This demo was created and developed to participate in the Day Zero Games: SOLARPUNK JAM hosted by Trevor Noah's Day Zero Productions and Anima Interactive, and sponsored by Cinereach. This project was done with a three week restriction. Our game came in the top 5 out of 74 participants.

LuxDrive EX is a side-scrolling action platformer in which you play as Lux, a courageous horticulturist-explorer, rebuilding and restoring regions back to their sustainable practices for animals and people to enjoy.

Explore and leap into the first region, The Rust Belt, where agriculture once thrived but something changed. The facilities have gone offline and with support from Professor Yara Brightwater and the witty robot-familiar S.I.L.A.S (Systematic Intelligent Lifeform for Agricultural Stewardship), Lux is on a mission to help, heal, and bring hope for a greener tomorrow.

I worked on a team of five for this jam, with the theme of ‘Solar Punk.’ I was the primary game designer but also completed all level design and implementation. I worked alongside the artist to create a full pixel asset list as well as the composer for all sound effects.

I lead design for this jam and contributed in development with in engine implementation of several functions, namely the regrowth system - cleansing enemies with your nanobot gloves would cause them to revert back to their healthy states. As a result, the enemies would cause the ground around them to heal, growing grass and corn in the ravaged Rust Belt.

I designed the functionality and AI actions of the single boss, GaleGrasp, the Ominous Wind. I worked alongside the developer to create the boss chamber and balanced their actions and abilities after initially designing its behavior.
